That old guy who corrected my dice roll at the cafe

Back in 2018 at Moonlight Games in Portland, this dude probably 70 years old leans over and says 'you're rolling too hard, let the dice breathe.' He showed me a soft wrist flick that changed how my dice land. Anyone else get unsolicited dice advice from a stranger that actually worked?

Saw a forum post once about old dice nerds in Seattle doing the same thing. They called it the "open palm drop" and swore it cut cocked dice by half. Tried it myself and it actually cleaned up my rolls way more than I expected.

Man that's cool to hear, glad it worked out for you too!

Oh man, that's funny but I gotta say something - it wasn't Seattle where that open palm drop thing started, it was actually a group up in Vancouver. My buddy drove up there for a tournament and came back talking about it. But yeah that soft flick thing is real, totally changed how my dice behave too.
