Rant: Spent $120 on a deluxe version of Scythe and now it just sits on my shelf
Honestly, I thought the metal coins and realistic resources would make it so much better, but the box is too big for my shelf and the extra bits just take up time setting up. I only played it twice before going back to the normal version, and now I'm out $120 on stuff I don't use. Has anyone else regretted buying a deluxe or collector's edition of a board game and what did you do with it?

Wait, you're telling me you actually swapped back to the normal version? That's wild lol. I have the deluxe Scythe too and honestly I feel you on the box size, it barely fits on my Kallax and I have to stack other games sideways next to it. The metal coins are cool but they're so heavy they actually dent the game board after a while, and the realistic resources are a pain to sort back into the bag. I ended up just selling the extra bits on ebay for like $40 and kept the normal game, felt way better about it.

Actually the metal coins don't dent the board if you store them separately. The weight is the issue though, totally agree. Had a friend whose box bottom tore because of it. The realistic resources are a nightmare. I've dumped them out mid-game more than once trying to find the right ones. Still, I'd never go back to the normal version. The deluxe resources just look so much better on the board. But yeah, selling the extras was a smart move.
