Pro tip: played my first game of Spirit Island with the blight card face up vs hidden, and wow
So my group meets at a shop in Cleveland called Tabletop on Wednesdays, usually 4 of us. We had played Spirit Island maybe 6 times and kept losing on the base difficulty, like 5 losses in a row. Then a guy at the next table told us newer players should keep the blight card hidden until it flips, instead of playing it face up where you can see the count the whole time. We ran it hidden on Tuesday and won two games straight, and honestly the tension made it way more fun. Turns out staring at the exact blight number makes everyone play scared and slow, and the hidden version forced us to just commit to our turns. Anyone else house rule this one, or do you stick with the rulebook version?
