Our group's game night in Columbus used to be all about winning, now we just laugh for hours.
About a year ago, someone brought 'The Fuzzies' and the whole vibe shifted from competitive to just trying to build the silliest tower. We've barely touched our strategy games since, and it feels like a better hangout. Has a single silly game ever changed your group's whole routine?

Worry that sounds like a slow slide into boredom. Our group tried that once and the nights just lost their spark. We had to make a rule to bring back real games or people would stop showing up. Laughing is fine but you need something to actually do, not just stack blocks like kids.

We switched to short, silly games instead.

Interesting. I see what @jason524 is going for, but I get the other side too. Maybe the real trick is mixing it up. A night of silly games feels great, but you need that tension from a real strategy game now and then to make the silly stuff feel special again. It's like any hobby, you can burn out on just one flavor.
