My Kickstarter board game pledge turned into a $120 box of cardboard I'll never play

I backed 'Chrono-Clash: Epochs' about two years ago, drawn in by the cool minis and time travel theme. The game finally arrived last month, and after three tries with my group, we just can't get into it. The rulebook is a confusing 40-page mess, and setup takes over an hour for a game that feels clunky. It's now just taking up space on my shelf, a constant reminder of the money I spent. Has anyone else had a Kickstarter game that looked amazing but played terribly? What did you do with it?

Feel your pain on that one... my shelf has a few of those fancy doorstops. Tried selling a couple at a deep loss just to clear the space. It's a real bummer when the hype doesn't match the game.

What's the record for most expensive paperweight you've owned? I had one that cost $70 and the only fun part was reading the angry reviews online after I got burned.

Actually think those fancy doorstops have their own weird charm. Sometimes the hype is part of the story, like a badge of honor for buying into the moment. Even @jesse_craig26 finding fun in the angry reviews shows it's not a total loss. Keeping a couple around reminds you not to believe every trailer, and that's a lesson worth the shelf space.
