Oh man @bethm97 that hits home! My friend is the Exact same way. He has Seafarers AND Cities & Knights just sitting there with the plastic wrap still on. He bought the 5-6 player extensions for base game we've literally never used. It's a whole shelf of "what if" that drives me nuts.

My uncle has three unopened tool sets in his garage, same idea. I see this everywhere now, people buying the full set of something for a life they imagine having. It is not about playing the game, it is about having the complete picture ready on the shelf. The hobby becomes collecting the pieces, not actually using them.
