My brother told me to stop inviting casual players to our Gloomhaven campaign
He said they'd slow us down and not get invested. We're on week 14 and still haven't finished the first story arc because two people keep forgetting the rules. Anyone else have a campaign that just won't move?

Still on the first story arc" sounds like a good reason to relax and just enjoy the game nights.

Look at it from your brother's side though. If you're resetting the same rules every session, like how monster focus works or when to lose a card to avoid damage, that grind gets old. I see where @blair_hill59 is coming from about relaxing, but constant reteaching can kill the fun for the people who did their homework. Maybe try a dedicated session just to go over the big rules again, one last time, before you make any cuts.
