My $60 card shuffler broke after 3 game nights and I went back to hand shuffling

I bought this electric shuffler online thinking it would save time during our weekly game nights. Worked great for one session, then on the fourth night it just jammed up and started eating cards. Tried fixing it for an hour but gave up. Now I'm back to riffle shuffling and honestly it's faster and more reliable. Anyone else have a gadget that flaked out on them?

Addictive those electric ones are but three nights is brutal even by cheap gadget standards.

Yeah, "addictive" is the right word for it. I was actually one of those people who swore by them for a while. I thought I was too good for hand shuffling, like it was some kind of outdated chore. But after my second cheap shuffler bit the dust, I had to eat my words. Now I can't believe I ever bothered with them. Your mileage may vary, but I'm sticking with my hands from now on.
