Had a talk with my buddy Ray about expansions and it totally shifted how I see my shelf

Ray said, 'you don't own those games, they just live with you and collect dust.' Hit me hard cause I got 7 unplayed expansions for games I already barely touch. Now I'm looking at my board game closet different. Anyone else feel like expansions are just gambling on loving a game even more?

Started selling off my unplayed expansions on eBay and kept only the ones for games I actually play monthly. It freed up so much closet space and honestly helped me appreciate the base games more.

Did your collection feel a lot lighter after that? My buddy Mike did the same thing last year with his RPG books. He had like three shelves of expansions for games he hadn't touched in years. After selling them he said he finally felt like he could actually focus on running the games he loved instead of stressing about what he was missing. Did you find yourself playing more of the base games after you cleared stuff out?
