Dropped $150 on a custom foam insert for my Gloomhaven box.

Thought it would save me setup time. Took forever to get the pieces to fit right. Now I just leave it on the shelf. Anyone else buy a fancy organizer that made things worse?

Yeah, totally feel that. The setup is faster but the cleanup is a nightmare, kills the mood. Sometimes the baggies were better, lol.

Wasn't there a whole article about how organizers can kill the fun? I read something like that, about how the hassle of putting everything back just right makes you not want to play. My friend did the same thing with his Scythe box, and now it just gathers dust because it's a chore to repack. Feels like you pay for a solution that just makes a new problem.

Ngl, I went through the same thing with my Terraforming Mars box. What finally worked was ditching the custom foam and just using two small plastic tackle boxes from the dollar store. I sorted all the tokens and little pieces by type into those, and now I just grab the two boxes and the board. Setup takes maybe five minutes, and cleanup is just tossing everything back into the compartments. It's not pretty, but it's way less annoying than fighting with a foam cutout that never quite fits. Sometimes the cheapest solution really is the best one.
