DAE used to skip family game days until my niece picked one

I figured board games with kids would be boring and slow. Seeing her get so into the strategy of a simple tile layer turned my view around. What family moments made you rethink gaming with different age groups?

Small thing, but it's usually called tile-laying games, not tile layer.

My friend Mark, a graphic designer for a small board game company, spent two days last month fixing all their packaging files. He'd written "tile layer games" everywhere... the printer finally called to ask if they were making a game for construction workers.

Actually, I've seen this happen before with indie game devs. Always run your copy by someone who knows the hobby terms, like a dedicated player or editor. We had to reprint a batch once because nobody caught 'deck builder' vs. 'deck-building' until after production. Saves a lot of time and money to check early.
