Just realized my anvil's ring tells me the ground under it better than the ground itself
Was shaping a bottle opener in the garage last month and the ring went flat, so I bolted it to a 4 inch oak block and it came right back loud. Places I've moved that anvil 3 times and never once thought to check the base first. Anyone else hear a dead spot and know the block is the problem, not the steel?
