Your favorite 'prestige' drama is not binge worthy, and the 40 minute runtimes are why
Everyone keeps putting shows like that on their binge lists, but I tried three of the big ones over the winter and kept stalling out around episode four. A 55 minute episode with a 6 minute recap and a slow piano montage means I get through maybe two a night before I'm done, which is not a binge, that's a commitment. Am I wrong that a real binge show needs 30 minute episodes or at least a plot that moves, and if not, what's the longest episode you've actually sat through back to back?
