Turned on subtitles for my second rewatch of The Wire and caught stuff I completely missed the first time
I finished The Wire about 6 months ago and liked it but honestly had trouble keeping all the names and corners straight. Last Sunday I started it over with subtitles on, mostly because my girlfriend kept asking what they were mumbling, and it's a totally different show. I caught a scene in episode 3 where two guys talk about a stash house in like 4 sentences and I finally got how that whole thread started. It took me 3 tries to get past season 2 the first time, but this run I'm already 5 episodes deep in a week. The subtitle thing also made me notice how much of the story happens in background talk I was ignoring. Does anyone else do the rewatch with subs thing, or am I just slow the first time through everything?
