The one episode skip that ruined an entire series for me

I was watching a 10 season show on Netflix, thought I could skip a filler episode in season 3. Missed a minor character introduction that became central to the finale. Had to go back and rewatch after finishing. Now I check episode guides before skipping anything. Anyone else had a skip backfire like that?

Used to be all for skipping episodes honestly, thought it was fine if I missed a random side plot or whatever. But then I skipped what I thought was a filler episode in a show I was binging and it ended up being the whole setup for a character's backstory that came back seasons later. Had to go back and rewatch, felt like I wasted so much time. Now I'm super careful too, always read up on what's actually important in the episode guides. It's crazy how one "skip" can mess up the whole experience. That taught me real quick not to trust my gut on what's filler and what's not.

Used to be the type to skip anything that felt slow, but I learned my lesson the hard way with a similar situation. Now I always look up spoiler-free guides before hitting that skip button.
