The exact moment I stopped forcing myself through shows I hated
I used to be the type who had to finish every series I started, even if I was bored out of my mind by episode 3. That changed about 2 years ago when I was stuck on season 2 of a popular crime drama, dreading each episode for three weeks straight. My friend finally asked me why I was watching something that made me miserable, and I couldn't come up with a good answer. Now I give a show exactly 3 episodes to grab me, and if it doesn't, I drop it without guilt. Has anyone else made that switch, or are you still a finisher type?

Quitting a show early just means you never got to the good part.

Oh man, I used to be that way with shows too. But then I gave Breaking Bad a real shot and forced myself through the first few episodes. By season 2 it clicked and I was hooked. What worked for me was setting a rule - three episodes minimum before I decide. Sometimes shows just need time to set up the world and characters. Now I try to give everything at least a few hours before I bail.
