My Roku died during the Lost season 2 finale and I ended up finishing the whole show on my phone
Two Sundays ago my Roku just froze on a black screen right as the hatch countdown hit zero and I sat there hitting the remote like an idiot for 20 minutes before I admitted it was dead. I was 11 episodes deep into a Lost rewatch and I had that whole night free because I work nights at the hospital and had just switched back to days, so my sleep was wrecked anyway. I didn't want to wait for a new streaming stick to ship, so I pulled up the last 4 seasons on my phone and watched the rest of that whole show on a 6 inch screen over about 9 days. Honestly it changed the way the show landed for me, holding it that close made the quiet scenes hit harder and the parts I used to skip felt way faster. Around season 5 I started watching in bed with the phone propped on a coffee mug and I blew through 3 episodes a night without even noticing. Now I'm wondering if the little screen is why the ending bugged me less this time. Has anyone else done a full rewatch on a phone and felt like they saw a different show?
Ha, been there with the dying Roku and honestly the phone thing is real, I did the last two seasons of Breaking Bad on mine when my TV was down for a week. If you want to do it again without the mug, a cheap phone stand plus headphones makes a huge difference, the sound is what you're missing most.
