My friend said my show picks were too predictable and it stung a bit.

He called me out last week, said I only watch the same three types of cop dramas. So I forced myself to try 'Severance' on Apple TV+. Totally different vibe, and now I'm hooked. What's a show that pulled you out of your usual genre?

Ugh, I feel that. My roommate said my watchlist was just endless sci-fi and fantasy. She pushed me to try "The Bear" and it blew my mind, even though I never watch stuff about restaurants. It's all the stress and yelling but in a kitchen, not a spaceship. What did you think of the weird office vibe in "Severance"?

That office had me checking my own job contract!

Got a buddy who's the same way. He swore he'd never watch anything without a spaceship or a dragon. A few of us were raving about "Station Eleven" after it came out, and he finally gave in just to get us off his back. He called me three episodes in, totally confused about why he was crying over a graphic novel and a traveling Shakespeare troupe. Last I heard, he was trying to convince his book club to read it.
