My dad got me hooked on this one true crime show and now I can't stop

I used to only watch sitcoms or action stuff, nothing too serious. Then my dad visited last month and put on "The Staircase" on Netflix, and I was hooked after the first episode. Now I've binged three different true crime docs in two weeks and I'm annoying my wife by pointing out inconsistencies in every crime story we see. Has anyone else fallen into this genre after avoiding it for years? What's a good one to watch next?

Two weeks in is about when I started noticing every unsolved case in my neighborhood looks suspicious, including the guy three doors down who mows his lawn at 11pm. It's like the brain gets trained to look for patterns where there probably aren't any, which makes grocery store lines feel like criminal profiling exercises. Watch "The Jinx" if you want something that actually pays off, just don't tell your wife you're analyzing her story about the missing Tupperware the same way.

Wait, 11pm lawn mowing?? That's wild, I would lose my mind if my neighbor did that! @willow_garcia you're totally right about the brain getting wired to see patterns everywhere though. I caught myself side-eyeing my mailman yesterday because he paused an extra second at my neighbor's box and I immediately invented a whole criminal backstory for him. The Tupperware thing hit way too close to home too, my wife keeps asking why I'm suddenly so interested in where she put the remote. The Jinx is amazing, but I swear after watching it I almost called the cops on my own landlord for using a weird voice on the phone.
