My buddy Dave said The Wire is overrated and I almost ended our friendship right there
He claimed season 2 is unwatchable and that McNulty is just a drunk jerk, but has anyone else had to defend a whole show to someone who clearly skipped half the episodes?

My cousin did the same thing with Better Call Saul, said it was "too slow" and "not Breaking Bad." He watched the first 3 episodes on his phone while scrolling Twitter, lol. @the_oscar is right, people like Dave skip the meat and then complain the sandwich is dry. Season 2 of The Wire is literally about how the system fails everyone, even the dock workers. It's like people refuse to let a show breathe, they want instant payoff every 10 minutes. McNulty IS a drunk jerk, that's literally the point, he's a flawed dude doing flawed work.
