Hot take: I binged 14 seasons of a show in 4 days and now I can't watch anything else
So 2 weeks ago I had a bad cold and decided to finally give this long running series a shot. First episode was slow but by the end of day one I was 6 episodes deep. Day three I looked up and it was 3am and I had burned through 14 seasons. The problem is now every new show feels flat because I got so used to the character arcs and slow burn payoff. Has anyone else had a binge hangover like this and how long did it take to enjoy normal TV again?
Man I feel this in my soul. What worked for me was switching genres completely, went from a heavy drama binge straight into dumb comedies and cooking shows for like a week. Your brain needs a reset from that slow burn stuff, so give it something with zero commitment where you don't care about the characters at all. Took me about 10 days before a normal show could hold my attention again.
