Had to pick between finishing a show or sleeping, I made the wrong call

Last Thursday I was on episode 7 of a 10-episode crime drama at 11 PM. My alarm was set for 5:30 because I had a crew starting at a job site in Oakville. I told myself I'd watch one more episode, then two more, and by the time the credits rolled on episode 10 it was 4 in the morning. I showed up to work on two hours of sleep and spent the whole day mixing paint colors wrong because my brain was fried. My foreman kept asking if I was hungover and I just had to admit I was hungover on plot twists instead. Has anyone else ever torpedoed a work day because a show got too good to pause?

The "hungover on plot twists" thing hit me hard, @rose_grant78. I did the same thing with a show about a missing hiker and showed up to my accounting job the next day running on fumes. I kept messing up simple numbers and my boss thought I had a problem. Your weekend rule is smart, I might steal it for myself. Next time I'll just wait until Saturday to start anything that good.

The whole "hungover on plot twists" thing is too real. I've started checking how many episodes are left before I even hit play on anything now, if its more than 4 I just wait for the weekend.
