Decided to finally watch that old show my parents loved, and it hit different
My mom kept telling me to watch 'Northern Exposure' for like a decade, so I gave it a shot last month. I figured a show from the early 90s would feel super dated and slow, but I got totally hooked after three episodes. The pacing is way more relaxed than modern stuff, but the characters are just so well done. It made me realize how much I miss shows that just let conversations breathe instead of rushing to the next plot twist. Anyone else have an older show they tried on a whim that surprised them?

Try 'The West Wing' next. It's got that same smart, character driven feel.

Yeah @noah_smith is right, The West Wing is the perfect follow up. The walk and talk scenes alone are worth it.

I tried the walk and talk thing at work and just walked into a wall.
