Debate: did my last rewatch ruin the show or did it just age bad?

I finally convinced my friend to watch Breaking Bad with me. She loved season 1 but halfway through season 2 she started complaining about the pacing. I got defensive at first but then I noticed it too - the slow parts felt way slower than I remembered. Is it possible to rewatch a show too many times to the point where you start noticing its flaws? Or does a show just not hold up once you already know every twist? Has anyone else had a rewatch totally change how you feel about a show you used to love?

Yo for real that's tough. I definitely know what you mean, it sucks when an old favorite starts feeling off on a rewatch.

Man I've been there more times than I care to count. What works for me is leaving a good gap between watches - like a year or two minimum. Your brain needs time to forget some of the details so it feels fresh again. Also helps to watch it with someone who's never seen it before. Their reactions kinda remind you why you liked it in the first place, you know? Sometimes the old magic is still there, you just gotta find the right way back to it.
