Caught myself judging a show by its first 10 minutes, then a friend's comment flipped it

I was at a cookout in Newark on Saturday and someone said they skipped 'Dark' after episode 1 because it felt slow, but I told them I almost did the same thing back in 2020 before my cousin made me stick with it through episode 3. That pushback made me realize how many shows I've bailed on too early, and now I have a rule to give anything at least 3 episodes unless it's truly unwatchable. Anyone else have a show that took multiple tries before it clicked, or do you trust your first impression and move on?

Three episodes is about right for me too. I bailed on The Americans twice before it finally clicked on a third try. Now it's one of my favorites. But I still say if a pilot is straight garbage, I'm not forcing it.
