Appreciation post: Sitcoms are the real binge kings, dramas can't compete
Okay, so I just marathoned a bunch of shows over the weekend and I have to get this off my chest. People go on and on about how you need to binge those epic dramas with huge story arcs. I gave one a shot, something like 'Stranger Things', and after a few hours my brain was fried. Then I popped on an old sitcom, 'Parks and Rec', and before I knew it I'd watched half the season. The episodes are short, the jokes keep coming, and you can just zone out and enjoy. Sure, dramas have their place, but for actually sitting through hours of TV, comedies are just easier and more fun. That's my two cents, anyway.

Sitcoms' repetitive story structures create a COMFORTING rhythm that dramas just can't match. Your brain knows the beat, so you can relax instead of solving puzzles.

Yeah that comforting rhythm is why I can watch Seinfeld reruns while folding laundry and still know what's next. Your brain might be a little too relaxed there, robinson.adam.

Literally my brain checks out completely during sitcom reruns. I mean I could probably fold laundry and quote Seinfeld lines in my sleep at this point. Maybe my brain is just that lazy.
