Tried to surprise my wife with a fancy dinner, burned the only pan we own in 20 minutes

Last month I thought I'd be clever and cook this expensive salmon recipe I saw online. Seemed simple enough. But I got distracted watching a game on my phone, forgot the butter was on high, and next thing I know the kitchen smells like a campfire. The pan was $45 from Marshalls, now it's basically a charcoal sculpture. My wife walked in and just said, "Is that the good pan?" without even yelling. Idk why I thought I could multitask after 30 years of burning toast. Has anyone else wrecked something real nice trying to be romantic?

Girl that salmon was gone AND the pan was smoked, I once ruined a whole crockpot with a romantic stew.
