Took a $700 job over my anniversary trip, wife was not thrilled
I picked a last minute wiring gig in Akron over the weekend cabin my wife booked, figured I'd make it up to her later. The job ran 14 hours, the client paid late, and now I'm sleeping on the couch with a cat who judges me. Anyone else ruin a good thing chasing a quick payout?

Walked into that same trap three years ago with a small engine repair job on our tenth anniversary. Thought I could knock it out in four hours, turned into a two day mess with a broken flywheel and a guy who paid me in half smoked cigars and a deer stand. My wife still brings it up every time we drive past that hardware store, and honestly, the cat on the couch is probably warmer company than I deserve. Do you think there's any way to turn this around, or are we both just stuck with cold shoulders and cranky felines for the next decade?
