The day I fixed my lawn mower after 3 weeks of fighting it
Turns out the spark plug gap was off by a hair, watched a 10 minute video and it took 5 minutes to fix. Anyone else spend way too long on something that had a stupid simple answer?

Yeah that spark plug gap thing gets everyone once. But heres the angle nobody thinks about, the real time waster was probably all the times you checked the fuel system and air filter first. We always go for the complicated stuff before the dumb simple stuff. I did the same thing with a pressure washer that wouldnt start, took it apart twice, cleaned the carb, then realized the kill switch was just in a weird position. The internet makes us think every fix is gonna be some deep mechanical mystery when usually its just a loose wire or a bad connection. Now I always start with the cheapest and easiest thing first, even if it feels too obvious to be the problem.
