That weird tape trick I tried on a cracked tail light actually held up for 6 months

Honestly, I backed into a pole at a Walmart parking lot in St. Louis last winter and cracked my driver side tail light. I didn't want to shell out $200 for a new housing so I tried that clear packing tape and superglue combo I saw on a car forum. I layered the tape over the crack, hit it with glue on the edges, and let it dry for an hour. Six months later it's still holding through rain and car washes and hasn't leaked once. Anyone else try a cheap fix that just wouldn't quit?

Ha, I love this. My trailer hitch has been held together with zip ties and hope for like a year now. Maybe it's just me but a good cheap fix is way more satisfying than a proper repair.
