Shoutout to the guy who tried to microwave a fork at my office break room
I walked into the break room last Tuesday and saw a coworker staring at the microwave with smoke pouring out. He had put a metal fork in there with his leftover pasta. I froze for a sec, then he just shrugged and said 'I thought it was plastic.' The microwave still works somehow, but now there's a weird burnt smell every time you heat up lunch. Has anyone else witnessed someone do something this clueless with kitchen stuff?

Knew a guy from college who tried to make popcorn with a metal bowl. Said it was "microwave safe." The bowl basically exploded and they had to air out the dorm for two days.

Three weeks later my roommate tried the EXACT same thing with a glass bowl that said "microwave safe" on the box. Turns out "safe" just means it won't melt, not that it can handle 400 degrees of popcorn oil. We had to explain to the RA why our floor smelled like burnt movie theater. Some people just gotta learn the hard way I guess.
