PSA: I locked my keys in the car at a Sheetz in Scranton and spent 3 hours waiting on a locksmith
About a month ago I pulled into a Sheetz off I-81 outside Scranton to grab a soda and some gas on my way home from visiting my brother. I hopped out, hit the lock button out of pure habit, and shut the door with the keys still sitting in the cupholder. I stood there for a second just staring at them through the glass like that would somehow fix it. My phone was in the car too, so I had to walk inside and ask the guy at the register to call a locksmith for me, which was its own little slice of humiliation. The first place quoted me $180 and said it would be at least two hours. The second guy showed up in about 90 minutes, fished the door open in maybe 40 seconds with a wedge and a long rod, and charged me $85 cash. The whole thing cost me three hours and a dent in my pride, and the worst part is this is the second time I have done it in five years. How do you all keep from doing this, do you clip the fob to your belt or just leave a spare somewhere?

A spare key in your wallet costs about three bucks and takes zero effort. Wallet goes in your pocket every time you leave the house, so you always have a way in. Locking yourself out is 100% a choice at that point, not bad luck.
