Hit 1,000 free throws in a row, then missed the next one in front of my whole gym
I've been tracking my free throw streaks on a whiteboard in my garage for like 8 months. Last Tuesday I finally hit 1,000 in a row, so I drove straight to the LA Fitness on Broad Street to show off. I stepped up, air balled the very first shot, and some teenager yelled 'nice form' from the treadmill. Has anyone else had a milestone get destroyed the second they tried to prove it to someone else?

Nah, I actually see that air ball as a good thing. You spent 8 months proving you can hit 1,000 in a row in a quiet garage with no pressure. That's real skill. Then you walked into a loud gym with people watching and your brain did something different. That's not your shot failing, that's your nerves showing you where the weak spot is. Now you know exactly what to work on. Go back, practice with music blasting or your phone recording you, and build that same streak under noise. The kid yelling is just free motivation. You're closer now than you were before that miss.
