Buddy told me to just sign the lien waiver on a $2,300 job and I almost did it
Was grabbing coffee with a guy who subs drywall at the diner on 8th and he said he signs waivers before the check clears every time, and it cost him $2,300 on a job in Toledo when the GC filed bankruptcy two days later. That money is gone no matter what the contract says. If you've been burned by a GC skipping out, how did you get paid or did you just eat it?
