Unpopular opinion: the old timer who told me to skip the torque wrench on stem bolts was dead wrong
He swore by feel after 30 years at a shop in Boise, but I cracked a carbon steerer tube last month because I listened to him, so now I want to know if anyone else has been burned by trusting the "just tighten it till it feels right" crowd.
