500 freewheel rebuilds is wild and all but I gotta wonder how many of those were actually needed vs. people just getting talked into it because the shop wanted the billable hours.

Stuck with one shop that always suggested a full rebuild on the old Sturmey hubs I brought in. After the third time they said it needed one, I just started doing the work myself at home and realized most of the time a good cleaning and new grease was all they really needed. Never went back to that place again.
