Heat gun vs hair dryer for shrink tube, not even close

I tried drying paint and shrinking tube with my wife's hair dryer last Tuesday in Dallas, took forever and the tube melted unevenly around the brake cable. Borrowed a heat gun from the shop down the street, done in 2 minutes flat with a proper seal. Anyone else use a $20 heat gun over anything else for this?

Used to swear by a hair dryer for all my shrink tube jobs, figured heat was heat. Then I tried drying some wiring on my truck with it and got the same crappy result, uneven and blobby. Heat gun is the only way now, night and day difference.
