Everyone says you need a special tool for seized seatpost removal, but a simple trick saved me $40.

Had a steel frame with an aluminum post stuck solid for over a year. I drilled a small hole in the post, filled it with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water, and let it sit overnight. The next morning, it twisted out with basic leverage. Is this a bad idea for carbon frames?

So benk26 says acids and carbon don't mix, but is a little vinegar really that big of a deal? It's not like you're pouring battery acid on it.

Would that vinegar trick eat into carbon fiber? I tried something similar once and just made a sticky mess on my garage floor. Probably best to keep the acids away from fancy materials.
