Client in Denver told me I over-torque everything, he was right

He watched me tighten a stem bolt and said 'you're going to strip that, back it off 20%.' I checked the spec and he was spot on, I'd been going way past it for years. Now I use a torque wrench on every carbon part and it's cut my warranty claims in half, has anyone else had a customer call them out like that?
