A customer in Denver taught me a better way to wrap bar tape

This older guy brought in his vintage steel bike last week and asked me to rewrap the bars. I did my usual method, but he gently pointed out a trick with the brake lever clamp area. He showed me how to tuck the end of the tape under the hood rubber for a super clean finish, no electrical tape needed. I've done probably a hundred tape jobs and never saw that. It's a small thing, but it looks way more pro. Anyone else have a favorite little trick for finishing bar tape?

Saw a video where they used a heat gun to shrink the tape ends.

Honestly I find that trick can make the hoods sit weird. A thin strip of black tape is still the most reliable finish for me.

It's like that with everything, the simple fix is usually the one that works best.
