Update: My brisket stall lasted 8 hours and I almost gave up

I was smoking a 16 pound packer in my offset and it hit 150 degrees at noon, then just sat there until 8pm. I wrapped it in butcher paper after 4 hours but it still took forever. What's the longest stall you guys have ever dealt with?

Eight hours is absolutely brutal, you must have been staring at that temp probe all day. My longest was maybe five hours on a really humid day and I thought that was bad. Did the bark hold up okay after all that time?

I mean, eight hours sounds pretty normal to me for a big packer, idk.
