Rant: My brother-in-law in Dallas said 'brisket is overrated' and I actually get it now
We were at his place for the 4th, and he said he'd rather spend 14 hours on a whole hog or some beef ribs... that brisket is just a boring, uniform slab you have to babysit. He's not wrong about the work for a single cut of meat, and it made me think about all the other stuff we could be mastering. Anyone else feel like we focus on brisket too much and miss out on other great cooks?

Man, that's a take I've heard more often lately and it makes total sense. Brisket can feel like a huge time investment for one thing, and the payoff isn't always there if you're craving more variety. There's a whole world of ribs, pulled pork, and even whole chickens that get way less attention. It's easy to get stuck in the brisket loop and forget how fun other long cooks can be.
