Update: My neighbor said to skip the $20 toaster and hit the church rummage sale instead, he was right
My neighbor Dale caught me staring at a $20 toaster at the drugstore on Tuesday and told me to skip it and try the rummage sale at the church on Maple Street instead. I kind of blew him off but went anyway on Saturday morning since I was already out getting gas. Paid $3 for a toaster that looked like it came from 1987 and I almost walked away, but Dale said the old ones never die. Plugged it in and this thing toasts way more even than the $40 one I had before. The lady running the table said it was her mom's and had been in the family for 30 odd years. I also grabbed a crock pot for $5 and a set of mason jars for a buck. Now I'm wondering what else I've been overpaying for at regular stores. Anyone else got a spot like that where the stuff is cheap but actually works better?
