Rant: I bought a $2 flashlight at a Euclid, Ohio garage sale and the guy's warning about the batteries still bugs me

Oh man, that reminds me of this old Kodak camera I got at a flea market in Sandusky years back. The lady selling it kept telling me not to leave the batteries in it or they'd leak and wreck the whole thing, and she said it like three times. Course I forgot and sure enough, six months later there was that white crusty stuff all over the inside. I still wonder if she knew something specific about that camera or if she just did that to everybody.
