Hit 500 thrift store purchases last month, here's what I did with the worst one
I keep a running tally of every single thing I buy at yard sales and thrift stores. Hit 500 last month exactly. The worst item? A bread machine from a Goodwill in Akron that still had a half loaf of moldy bread inside. I paid $4 for it because I thought the bread was fake. Nope. That machine went straight to the dumpster. Meanwhile the best score at that same number was a $2 vintage tackle box full of old fishing lures. Anyone else track their bargain bin count or am I just weird about numbers?

Paying $4 for a bread machine with actual moldy bread inside is the kind of thing that makes you question your whole system. Like, you held it, you looked at it, you handed over real money, and somewhere in your brain a voice said "yeah this seems right." Meanwhile some guy in Ohio is probably still laughing about the weirdo who bought his science experiment. At least the tackle box evened things out, that's a solid $2 flip if the lures are old enough. Tracking 500 purchases is a lot of numbers to keep straight though, do you have a spreadsheet or just a pile of receipts you cry over?
