Why does nobody talk about barber chairs pinching your fingers

I was working at A Cut Above in Tulsa last week and went to adjust a customer's chair height. The hydraulic lever snapped back and caught my ring finger between the base and the metal frame. Took me 10 minutes to get it loose and my finger is still swollen. I've been cutting hair for 7 years and never had that happen before. After I got home I checked the bolts on that chair and sure enough two of them were loose. Now I check every chair at the start of my shift and I'm telling the owner to get replacement hydraulics. Has anyone else had a chair malfunction that cost them time or worse?

Swollen finger for a week after the same thing happened to me at Great Clips. Those chairs are out to get us, I swear.

Omg right? I swear these cheap salon chairs are all secretly from the same factory or something. It's like everything in our daily lives is designed to barely work and then break or hurt us lol. I noticed a pattern with stuff like that too. Like the handles on those big plastic ketchup bottles at fast food places, they always leave my hand sore for hours. Or those hand dryers in public bathrooms that never fully dry your hands but still somehow burn you if you hold them too close. It's like the whole world is a little bit broken and we just have to deal with it. Honestly your finger thing just proves my point that nothing is built for actual human comfort anymore.
