TIL cheap clippers from Amazon cost me $180 in lost appointments...

Picked up a $35 cordless clipper set online to save money after my Wahls died. First week was fine, then the blade started pulling on day 8 during a fade. Had to stop mid-cut and apologize to the client, then rebook 3 people that week while I waited for a replacement. Lost around $180 between refunds and missed slots. Not worth it, stick with name brand stuff you can fix.

Manual snipping a sheepdog? That's a special kind of haircut hell.

Had a buddy who tried the same thing with a trimmer he found on sale for like forty bucks. He was buzzing along on a sheepdog and halfway through the coat the thing just stopped moving the blade. He spent the next twenty minutes manually snipping out the mess while the owner gave him the evil eye. Ended up borrowing my clippers for the last half of the groom and swore he'd never cheap out again.
