Man I always rolled my eyes at those things whenever I saw them at a barber shop. Figured it was just something to jack up the price or make the place feel fancy. But watching a guy who has clearly been cutting hair since before I was born take his time with one, that changed my whole view on it. It's not about being fancy at all, it's about the client's comfort and getting the hair to lay right before you even start. Guess some things stick around for a reason.
