The 'just a trim' guy actually needs a full shape up every time

Everyone says to take them at their word, but I've found nine out of ten guys asking for a trim actually need the neckline cleaned and the sides blended. I started offering that as the default after a client in Austin said 'wow, that's what I meant' last month. How do you handle the vague request without overstepping?

Tell me about it, that's the most common thing in my chair too. You're right to just make the shape up the default, it's what they actually want. Saves everyone the back and forth and they leave happier. I've had the exact same "that's what I meant" moment more times than I can count.

Yeah, just making that the standard service saves so much time.
