The $40 clipper I found at an estate sale cuts better than my $300 Wahl...

Noticed a lot of guys at the shop buying the newest Oster models but ignoring the older stuff... I picked up a vintage Oster 76 from 1982 at a garage sale in Des Moines for $40 and it runs smoother than anything on my shelf. Anyone else have luck with old clippers over the new ones?

Oh come ON. Is it REALLY that big of a deal? I mean yeah your old clipper works fine but the hype around vintage stuff is getting out of hand lately. People act like finding some dusty clipper at a garage sale is the same as striking gold. I bet the Wahl you had before wasn't even that bad, maybe you just didn't maintain it properly or something. New stuff isn't perfect either, but acting like old clippers are some kind of secret weapon is kind of silly to me.
